Available Roles

Owner

Full administrative access:

  • All member capabilities
  • Manage team members
  • Delete restaurant
  • Access billing
  • Change settings

Best for: Restaurant owners, general managers

Member

Standard operational access:

  • View and edit menu items
  • Manage allergens
  • Respond to reviews
  • View analytics
  • Generate QR codes

Cannot:

  • Manage team members
  • Delete restaurant
  • Access billing

Best for: Kitchen managers, shift leads, marketing staff

Choosing Roles

When to Use Owner

Assign Owner role to:

  • Restaurant owner(s)
  • General manager
  • Operations director
  • Anyone needing full control

When to Use Member

Assign Member role to:

  • Kitchen managers
  • Shift supervisors
  • Marketing coordinators
  • Front of house managers
  • Anyone who manages menu day-to-day

Multiple Owners

Benefits

Multiple owners provide:

  • Backup access
  • Shared responsibility
  • Coverage during absence

Considerations

  • All owners can change settings
  • All owners can manage team
  • Consider limiting for security

Recommendation

2-3 owners maximum:

  • Primary owner
  • Backup owner
  • Optional: Regional manager

Changing Roles

Promote to Owner

  1. Go to Settings > Team
  2. Click on the member
  3. Change role to Owner
  4. Confirm the change

They immediately get full access.

Demote from Owner

  1. Must have at least one other owner
  2. Click on the owner
  3. Change role to Member
  4. Confirm the change

Their access reduces immediately.

Role Best Practices

Security

  1. Limit owners - Only essential personnel
  2. Regular audits - Review roles quarterly
  3. Remove promptly - When staff depart
  4. Appropriate access - Match role to responsibility

Operations

  1. Document roles - Who has what access
  2. Train on responsibilities - What each role should do
  3. Cover absences - Ensure backup access
  4. Review activity - Monitor for issues
