Publishing Your Menu
Make your menu visible to diners and generate your QR code.
Before Publishing
Checklist
Before going live, verify:
- Restaurant profile complete (name, address)
- Menu items added and organized
- Prices set correctly
- Allergens marked (or at least reviewed)
- Test items display correctly
Preview Your Menu
See exactly what diners will see:
- Navigate to QR Code
- Click Preview Menu
- Test on mobile device
Check:
- Items display correctly
- Prices are right
- Descriptions readable
- Allergen badges appear
Publishing Steps
1. Publish Items
Individual items must be published:
- Go to Menus > Items
- Select items to publish
- Click Change Status → Published
- Or edit each item and set status to Published
Status meanings:
- Draft - Hidden from diners
- Published - Visible to diners
- Archived - Hidden from dashboard and diners
2. Publish Menus
Menus containing your items must also be published:
- Go to Menus
- Click on each menu
- Ensure status is Published
- Save if changed
3. Publish Restaurant
Finally, publish your restaurant:
- Go to Settings > General
- Find the Published toggle
- Turn it ON
- Save changes
Your menu is now live!
Generating Your QR Code
Get Your Code
- Navigate to QR Code
- Your unique code is displayed
- Click Download
- Choose format (PNG, SVG, or PDF)
- Choose size
Print Recommendations
- Minimum size: 1” × 1” (2.5cm × 2.5cm)
- Recommended: 1.5” × 1.5” or larger
- Paper: Cardstock or laminated for durability
- Placement: Table tents, counter displays, windows
Custom QR Codes
Create tracked codes for different purposes:
- Click Create New Code
- Name it (e.g., “Table Tent - Spring 2024”)
- Download and use
- Track scans separately in analytics
Testing Your Setup
Scan Test
- Print one QR code
- Scan with your phone
- Verify menu loads
- Check allergen filters work
- Test on different devices
Guest Test
Ask someone unfamiliar to test:
- Can they scan easily?
- Is the menu clear?
- Do allergen filters work?
- Any confusion?
Going Live
Soft Launch
Consider a soft launch:
- Print codes for one location/area
- Monitor for issues
- Gather feedback
- Expand once confident
Full Launch
When ready:
- Print QR codes for all locations
- Place on tables, counters, windows
- Brief staff on the new system
- Monitor analytics
Staff Briefing
Ensure staff knows:
- What the QR code does
- How to help diners scan
- How to answer allergen questions
- Who to contact for issues
After Publishing
Monitor Analytics
In the first few days, watch:
- Scan counts (are people using it?)
- Allergen filter usage
- Any error reports
Respond to Feedback
Be ready to:
- Address community flags quickly
- Update inaccurate information
- Improve based on feedback
Keep Updated
Maintain your menu:
- Update when items change
- Adjust prices as needed
- Add seasonal items
- Remove unavailable items
Unpublishing
Temporarily Hide
To temporarily hide your menu:
- Go to Settings > General
- Turn Published OFF
- QR codes will show “Menu unavailable”
Hide Specific Items
To hide individual items:
- Edit the item
- Change status to Draft
- Item hidden but not deleted
Troubleshooting
”Menu not showing”
Check:
- Restaurant is published
- Items are published
- Items are in menu sections
- QR code is correct

”QR code won’t scan”
Check:
- Code is large enough (1”+)
- Not damaged or dirty
- Good lighting
- Phone camera working
